Clifton Gets Fresh-to-Order Pizzeria
CLIFTON: Barilari’s Italian Restaurant, located in Clifton, New Jersey has been sold according to David A. Alvarez, Bielat Santore & Company, Allenhurst, New Jersey, the salesperson who handled the sale. The new proprietor is a local resident from Bergenfield, New Jersey who vows to utilize his experience in the food and beverage industry to continue the establishment’s success at 755 Van Houten Avenue, even after its transformation.
Purchaser Manuel Antonio “Tony” Torres was trained and worked for the Bensi Restaurant Group for the past twenty years where he gained extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine and pizza making. He has manned every aspect of a restaurant including managing the front of the house, the back of the house and working hands-on in the kitchen making thin crust pizza. “You can say that I’ve been a loyal employee,” said Torres. “There is no business without a great team who cares about the food and the customer.”
It is this attitude that made Torres the perfect buyer for the popular Passaic County, New Jersey eatery. A close proximity to New York City, the city of Clifton reigns as one of the state’s largest municipalities in New Jersey with an integrated network of major roadways. The restaurant’s bustling location provides convenience for those passing through looking for a quick bite to eat, as well as a quaint dining experience for local customers.
The restaurant is currently undergoing minor renovations, converting the former eatery into a brand of Torres’s own, Tony’s Pizza Pasta Grill. “Tony is a person who loves the pizza restaurant business,” adds Alvarez. “His goal is to introduce the community to a simple, fresh-to-order approach of Italian cooking. Prices will also be reasonable to encourage patrons to dine out more often. The way Torres sees it, why cook on a Monday or Tuesday? Isn’t the beginning of the week hard enough?”
Tony’s Pizza Pasta Grill will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Guests can choose from a selection of Italian entrees, sandwiches, thin crust pizza and children’s options. Delivery will also be available. Reopening date is slated for later this month.
