709 – B2 = BINGO!
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ: For nearly ten years, the trendy bar and restaurant located at 709 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, named simply “709,” has been the “go to” eating and drinking spot in downtown Point Pleasant Beach. Upon entering the facility patrons belly-up to a handsome mahogany bar where on most nights, the crowd is two or three deep. Customers look up from the bar and become mesmerized by a wall of water, continuously changing colors and bubbling around the “709” logo. As one walks through the bar room, you enter a cozy dining room complete with floor to ceiling mirrors and a stone-hearth fireplace. If that is not enticing enough, one can ride the elevator to the second floor and enter the “Living Room;” a private party room that seats 100, accompanied by a second mahogany bar, another stone- hearth fireplace, and an outdoor veranda looking over downtown Point Pleasant Beach.
Although all of that ambiance is still in tack, the ownership is not. As reported by Richard R. Santore of Bielat Santore & Company, Allenhurst, New Jersey the broker for the sale, the restaurant was sold to the owners and operators of the acclaimed B2 Bistro in Red Bank, New Jersey. Both Santore and his partner Barry Bielat worked toward completing this transaction and are enthusiastically awaiting the change-over from 709 to B2. According to Bielat, the new owners are going to transform 709 into a second B2 Bistro + Bar, introducing Ocean County to the concept that Monmouth County has been raving about.
The B2 Bistro + Bar is a perfect destination for everyone from hip, socially-connected Millennials to discerning, worldly Baby Boomers. The concept offers a casual, welcoming atmosphere, an exceptional menu, an active and well-stocked bar, and fabulous service and hospitality. The kitchen staff transforms the freshest locally-sourced ingredients into delectable culinary creations with their own innovative and creative twists. Based on the popular bistro-style cooking in the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, and other Mediterranean countries, B2’s culinary focal point is its wood burning oven where many of the dishes are prepared, in particular, the specialty pizzas. The exposed oven serves as a key social-gathering point in the restaurant.
The bar at B2 provides an eclectic and well-priced wine list, a continuously rotating selection of craft draught beers, and a raft of exceptionally crafted cocktails. The bar specializes in barrel aging spirits and using only fresh seasonal fruit in its drinks. The new proprietors will operate the Point Pleasant Beach restaurant and bar as 709 until after the holidays. Thereafter, following renovations, they will seek to reopen in the spring as B2 Bistro + Bar. Keep a close eye on this one!
